The Caveçon (also spelled Cavecon, Caveson or Cavesson) is a lightweight French cavesson made of soft bridle leather with padded & leather covered chain.
The girth strap stabilizes the cavesson and prevents it from slipping sideways.
A fine link bicycle chain is used in the noseband. This adapts perfectly to the shape of the horse's nose. It is padded and leather-covered.
The Caveçon cavesson is somewhat more precise than the pure leather cavesson (Vienna or Pluvinel), but is also gentler than the Spanish Serreta. It therefore offers a good compromise for precise work and appropriate sharpness.
The Caveçon allows a comfortable transition to riding with a bit. Due to the narrow, 16mm wide straps, it can be easily buckled under a snaffle.

All traditional, black burnished items and fittings rust. This is not a quality defect, but a traditional product with original manufacturing methods. You can rub them with an olive oil cloth from time to time to keep them dark.
