Icelandic gelding emergency - Hello!

22 year old, 1.33m isi gelding with copd is urgently looking for a place to live, as soon as he is back on medication and can be ridden.

He is an emergency case, the heat this year and the less than ideal conditions in which he has been kept have been getting to him for a few weeks, but now my circumstances have suddenly changed and I am afraid that very soon I won't even be able to afford to pay the stabling fee, and he urgently needs veterinary treatment. he is currently only being given expectorants and pulmonary antispasmodics, but should now be given cortisone etc. in the summer.

he has copd and a hay dust allergy and finds it difficult to cope with the heat. we changed stables a good 3 years ago, he was symptom-free and fit for 1.5 years but gradually he started to have problems again and i just don't believe that he can grow old here without suffering, especially as i no longer have the financial means or any support. as is typical for import-isi, the mosquitoes are also a problem for him and he has had recurring chafing marks since last summer.

he is currently in a small "herd of lads" in an open stable and gets wet hay as well as small "support powders" etc. for the summer. 2/3 of the year he manages without coughing and pumping, but in the shedding season, like now in summer, he struggles.
reksi has been unshod for three quarters of a year. for a long time he stood in a box at night, but this only works if he and everyone around him have no straw bedding - we would prefer an open stable or 24/7 pasture!

for about two years now i have only been working him on the ground due to time constraints and because of his lungs, but with the right treatment a vet said in the fall that he could still be rideable. he knows work on the ground, in the field (alone or together, then he loves to race) but also regularly does classical gymnastics in the arena (although he is definitely a bit of a gym grouch). he is a 5 gaited horse, but i have only ever ridden 3 or sometimes 4 gaits.

he also loves children, my cousins and neighbor's children (3-13 years) have been learning how to handle horses and ride with him for years. he is always a lamb with kids (even if he is sometimes a picture-book pony stallion), whereas he likes to play the wannabe-teenie with experienced riders:)
unfortunately, he doesn't like cars and tractors, or anything else that's very loud, but that's not a big problem. when riding out or at the yard, he avoids the vehicle for a few meters and gets lots of praise, then that's a thing of the past :) i usually get off when tractors pass close by anyway, he just feels more comfortable then!
apart from that, the farrier, vet etc are no problem, he also stood in a mixed herd for 3.5 years, which also worked, although he likes to watch over "his" mares a bit:)

i am desperate and never wanted it to come to this, but my life has changed so suddenly and it is no longer possible, i would be grateful for any tips and advice!
his entire "inventory" of saddle etc. is of course coming with him!

please write to me if you have any questions, i hope i have told you the most important things!

thank you already,

mia and reksi
