New family wanted for Icelandic mare with fun factor - We have the beautiful black mare Fenna from Moarschusterhof on consignment. She is 13 years old, has a height of approx. 143 cm and is ideal for leisure riding, possibly also for competitions or for breeding. She impresses with her gentle nature and reliability. Ideal for riders looking for a loyal and loving horse.
More information about Fenna:
Fenna has good, solid basic gaits, including an exceptional walk, a good, clear trot, a good canter for a five-gaited horse and she also cuts a fine figure in the arena. Her tölt is a little off-center, but with good and correct training she is easy to ride in tölt, her gait of choice under the rider is usually tölt. Her pass is easy to call, still needs some speed but she has a very good potential there and is a lot of fun!
Under saddle she is very motivated, can be sensitive and quickly tense if you are an energetic rider but can be very fine and gentle if you pay attention to her, give her time and have clear but fair instructions. Experience with gaited horses is an advantage but not necessary !
Fenna is safe on the road, can be blacksmithed and loaded, is confident off-road, in a group as well as alone, knows dogs and doesn't mind them. She can sometimes be frightened by a noise in the bush. However, she does not jump or run away and can be regulated at any speed with the seat. No known bad habits.
With children she flips a switch, patient and cuddly, we can totally imagine her as a family member who is loved by everyone in the family. She is very friendly and bubbles to greet you every morning.
Requests from riding schools or equestrian centers are not considered. Fenna takes a while to get used to new people, is skeptical at first, but then trusts them completely and really wants to please.
I do not recommend riding Fenna as a beginner or fearful rider, she is sensitive and pays a lot of attention to the rider. Weight limit: max. 85 kg. Fenna needs a sensitive, calm but determined rider who gives her a voice, pays attention to her needs, understands her and gives her time, then she gives 110% and is always fully involved.
Fenna is high ranking, likes big horses better than isis and geldings better than mares! She is currently shod.
Fenna's pedigree is impressive, having Gáski and Gustur ( frá Hóli ) as grandfathers (Gáski even twice) is something very special, and names like Kjarval frá Saudárkróki and Hrafn frá Holtsmúla are not unknown in the pedigree of Icelandic horses. The old Gaedingar. So we could also imagine Fenna for breeding, she was awarded as a premium foal at the material test "Fohlenreise Bayern" 2011. I have attached her judge's decision.
We wish Fenna a home where she is loved and challenged. With Fenna you have a mare that would normally be in the five-figure range, but Fenna had a deer relapse two years ago and is therefore sold far below value. Fenna does not have chronic laminitis and an hourly, controlled grazing with good and proper grazing on rough pastures would also be possible again.
New x-rays were taken in mid-November and there is no longer any evidence of disease, no sinking. She is now fully resilient, has no other known health problems, no eczema, no coughing.
