Rimaidos is the perfect buddy for ambitious dressage riders who want to grow along with their horse.
After 7 years now, I have decided to pass Rimaidos on to someone else who will do him more justice. I personally want a relaxed horse for cross country riding and occasional ground work, both disciplines are not his strong point and after this long time we have unfortunately reached the end of this flag pole. He has enjoyed a solid basic training and gives a super performance under saddle in the arena, as long as he is ridden classical English (but please without rollkur). He is very responsive to the aids, loves to work, has great gaits and is happy to accept the rider's security. He is definitely not a beginner's horse, as he likes to test out and appreciates a safe, clear hand. I have had many nice cross country rides with him in the group, but he only feels safe with consistent rein and leg aids. As I am rather an anxious rider, which was intensified by the birth of my child, we just can't find a common denominator and I am happy that he may now finally find "his" person. I have ridden him very little in the last few years. Before he came to me, it looked no different. Therefore, he is absolutely unspent and is still very fresh at 14 years old, but other than riding in the arena and lunging from time to time, he is not really in training at the moment. He goes barefoot and has a moderate buck toe in front, but it has never limited him thanks to good working. Boxing is out of the question: he has a little "crack" in that regard, associated with a traumatic experience before my time. Since then, he also coups. He's a sit-up pooper and I just let him now-he needs it for his balance and the dentist (late '21, quite a while ago...) said she wouldn't know it from his incisors if she didn't know. So it doesn't limit him at all. Right now he is in an open stall with trail in a herd of 4 and is happy there, though larger herds stress him less. However, a pure gelding herd would also be conceivable in such a small group (currently: 2 mares, 2 geldings. He is very careful to protect "his" mares). So far he has no show experience. He is very good at blacksmithing and loading, but driving is still quite stressful for him at the moment due to a lack of routine. He will be delivered freshly vaccinated and dewormed. If desired, he can also be supplied with a suitable saddle (Theo Sommer) and Micklem Multibridle. If you are looking for an unspent horse, with whom you can grow together and offer him the necessary conditions, you might be just the needle in the haystack we are looking for. Via WhatsApp I will be happy to send you more photos and videos and I am available for further questions.
