Wonderful Haflinger mare/for leisure riders/coaches - It is with a very heavy heart that I am giving away my wonderful 17-year-old Haflinger mare Cookie. Due to changes in my life circumstances, it is simply no longer financially possible for me and I can no longer do her justice in terms of time.
She is being sold as conditionally rideable due to her front hoof roll. However, she can only be ridden to a limited extent and mainly in the field, where she goes over hill and dale, where the original mountain horse comes out, completely her thing. She is not suited to arena work, she must not be allowed to make tight turns or jump, and too much daily exertion can also trigger a relapse. However, regular light work is necessary, standing too long is not good for her.
I have mainly taken her for rides, double lungeing in the field and walks. She is super nice to handle and can also be handled by beginners, but she is NOT a beginner's horse in the field. She is quite insecure outside and needs someone to give her security, she has a stubborn head and can also get really excited when she has her 5 minutes. However, she is very easy to handle if you know what to do.
She is NOT an emergency sale, if not everything fits, she will stay as long as necessary.
She will only be sold with a preliminary check and a protection contract. If you don't want that, you've come to the wrong place. Not a beginner's horse, not a children's riding pony, not for schooling and not kept in boxes. She is kept outside 24/7 in an active stable and I would like her to be kept like that again.
She runs barehoof and has hoof boots for cross-country. She doesn't need any special shoeing or special feed or medication.
However, she has a condition and also has phases in which only ground work is possible because she doesn't walk cleanly, so you have to be aware of that. She is otherwise in top condition and robust.
